Though some may feel as though the Super Boat World Championship Races happened just recently, the start of the 2013 Super Boat International Offshore Racing circuit is only days away, starting in Biloxi, MS on April 25th, running through April 28th, and Team Gasse couldn’t be more excited to get back out on the water!
Smokin’ The Sound will return to Biloxi later this month, followed by Smokin’ The Lake on the weekend of May 3-5 on Gulfport Lake. This will be the kickoff race in the nine-race offshore season run by Super Boat International. Smokin’ The Sound will have at least 25 competing boats in eight classes.
“This will be more exciting because of the big boats coming in so close,” John Carbonell, of Super Boat International, said.
Carbonell said the big boats will range in length from 45-to-50 feet, and will reach speeds from 160-170 mph.
The race village will be set up next to the George Ohr Museum, according to David. “It will be highly visible along the Coast. People are invited to visit with boat owners and boat racers and view the boats,” David said.
This year, all of the races will be available for viewing in REAL TIME via the Super Boat International Official Livestream! If you can’t make it down to see Team Gasse in action, make sure to check the livestream for exclusive footage, interviews, and photos!
